RDAEF Program Director / Owner

Mashell has been in dentistry for over 20 years. She was an RDA for 15 years and worked in private practice, as well as education. Mashell was an educator for over 9 years and program director at a private junior college in Bakersfield, where she taught all aspects of dental assisting. In 2011 Mashell obtained her expanded function licensure. To utilize her new licensure as an RDAEF2 she left her teaching career to go into private practice. Mashell currently works at an office where she, along with her dentist provide quality dental care to their patients. Mashells passion for dentistry is the driving force in her career as a dental assistant, and the reason she is so excited to teach at CCDA.

Director of Education / Owner

Amanda Saling has been in the dental field since 2001. She attended Clarita Career College, graduating with the director’s award. She has always had a desire for higher education, leading her to become an RDAEF II in 2013, and an OMSA assistant in 2016. Amanda has continued to work in the dental field sense she graduated and has taught courses for dental assistance on the weekends throughout her career. Her primary focus as an instructor has been a dental assisting program, Sealant certification, and Radiology. Her love for dentistry and passion to help others grow in the dental field drove her to start one of the first study clubs for RDAEFs in California. Amanda has continued to stay involved in her professional organization by serving as a committee member for CDA Cares, Kern High School Districts Dental Assisting program, volunteering to educate schools aged children, and participating in a work study analysis up in Sacramento. Teaming up with Mashell Hannah, and Dr. Perry Jue to create CCDA, Amanda shares the same desire to see dental assistance further their education and to help RDAEFs be utilized to their full capacity within our dental communities.
