This course is for both the RDA and EF I, who wish to expand their licensure to perform all duties of a RDAEF II to include:

You must have a current RDA license with your sealant certification or be an EF I, and provide proof of malpractice insurance, which can be provided by your employer or it can be obtained through the ADAA with your membership.

CCDA courses are on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. We will provide both the didactic and hands – on portion of your course during these times. Dates to be determined by the Dental Board of California’s exam schedule for RDAEF’s.

Yes, you will need a participating dentist. You will need 5 posterior crowns prepped by a participating dentist during this course and they will need to be available to place local anesthesia for your patients. You will also need a supervising dentist to attend the state board examination to anesthetize your patient for cord retraction and final impression.

You will be required to perform expanded function duties under the direct supervision of a participating dentist and provide completed course work to your instructors for evaluation.

Unfortunately, the federal government does not provide grants for certificate programs. CCDA does not currently offer student loans, we do however offer several payment options.
Additional options:
– Dentist/employer
– Personal loan from your local credit union or bank
– Credit card(s) to assist in your payment plan

Though CCDA provides many of the required supplies needed for this course, students will be responsible to bring additional items. A list of additional instruments and supplies you will be required to bring for each module will be given to you at the time of acceptance into the program. If you need to purchase additional instrumentation, CCDA can assist you by helping you purchase them at cost through our vendors.

Loupes are not mandatory, however highly recommended. We will have a representative from Orascoptic available to discuss your individual needs and purchasing options. However; you may research additional vendors. Having loupes can greatly affect the outcome and quality of your restorations.
